[옥스팜] 전세계 기아로 매분 11명 사망 본문
빈곤 퇴치 국제구호단체인 옥스팜(Oxfam)은 작년 보고서에서 매분 11명이 기아로 사망하며, 그 치명적인 원인으로 분쟁(conflict), 코로나 19(Covid-19), 기후 위기(the climate crisis)를 지목했다.
대유행으로 인한 경제 악화와 기후 위기, 세계 곳곳에서 일어나고 있는 분쟁은 더 많은 사람들을 기아에 노출시키고 있다.
또한, 아프가니스탄, 에티오피아, 남수단, 시리아, 예멘 등을 최악의 기아 위기국으로 꼽았다. 최근 분쟁, 전쟁이 발생한 미얀마, 우크라이나도 예외는 아닐 것이다.
코로나 19를 막는 것 만큼이나 굶주림에서 사람들을 구하는 것이 중요한 현실이다.
